Law and Legislation

Electricity at Work Regulations State:

"All Employers have a legal obligation to establish and maintain reasonable measures to ensure the safety of staff and visitors to their premises. If an accident occurred due to faulty electrical equipment the employer is duty bound to prove sufficient measures have been taken."

Within the current climate of litigation and accountability for Health & Safety matters, it is more important than ever to provide a safe working environment for your workforce.

Many companies are still unaware of their duties to inspect, test and have the results recorded for their portable appliances on site. A portable appliance is anything with a plug attached to it. These can be low risk environments e.g., offices; medium risks e.g. shops and workshops; high risks e.g. building sites with 110v appliances and industrial kitchens.

The regularity of testing is determined by the type of appliance and environment it is in. We find incorrectly rated fuses, which we correct FREE of charge, poorly wired plugs with breakdown of the insulation and all on our visual inspection prior to testing the appliance.

We can work around you to provide our service with as little disruption to your business or organisation as possible. We will provide you with detailed reports and keep your information on file for future reference. This also includes a dedicated notification system which will remind you close to the date that your appliances need re-testing.
